Pocket Tutor Emergency Imaging

by Ram Vaidhyanath, Mandip K Heir

Pocket Tutor Emergency Imaging is written to help students, trainees and clinicians interpret imaging results when investigating common emergency clinical conditions. It also serves as a guide as to which imaging techniques to request, and when to request them. The opening chapter explains the principles of emergency imaging and patient safety considerations, including some elementary physics for the common imaging modalities. The next two chapters present the building blocks for understanding normal and abnormal images. Lastly, the clinical chapters are divided into subspecialties, and concisely describe the common emergency conditions, each illustrated by high quality radiological images. A brief reminder of key radiological anatomy is given at the start of each clinical chapter, as a quick reference guide. Clinical insight and guiding principal boxes throughout the text draw upon our own clinical experience in managing these emergency conditions. In this edition, the author has added a chapter on emergency cases, from how patients have presented, clinical findings and things to consider during management of these common presentations.
