Uveitis

by Nicholas Jones

The book UVEITIS provides information on the recent advances in the management of uveitis and related intraocular inflammations. All the topics are introduced in an orderly fashion and a global approach to the management of uveitis is given. This approach incorporates clinical history taking, examination, and imaging methods, along with their indications and their use in diagnosis and treatment. There are chapters on the various uveitis entities, classified on the basis of their etiology and pathogenesis. The chapters include images vividly displaying bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic diseases that present with clinical features of uveitis. The chapters on the treatment of uveitis with anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and biological agents present a practical approach to the management of recalcitrant uveitis. The chapters on sarcoidosis and other systemic disorders with ocular changes are superbly illustrated, supporting the clinical features of both systemic manifestations and ocular findings. Added to this is a series of illustrative case reports, each chosen to demonstrate a diagnostic or management dilemma. The great majority of illustrations in this book are taken from patients attending the Uveitis Clinic at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.
