This “Pocket Tutor Clinical Examination” book is the ideal companion for medical students and junior clinicians seeking an accessible and practical guide to structuring a consultation, taking a history and examining a patient. This book consists of 15 chapters. The first two chapters outline the general principles of structuring a consultation, taking a history and conducting an examination. Approaches to forming a differential diagnosis and following up a consultation are included, along with ethicolegal considerations and a summary of the relevance of evidence-based medicine to clinical skills. Ten systems-based chapters follow, each starting with a recap of key anatomy and physiology before describing system-specific symptoms and signs. The final three chapters devotes to children, the elderly and critically ill patients. The second edition has been revised in line with feedback on the first. New photographs have been included to broaden the scope of examination skills described.
