A psychopharmacologist should be aware of the functions of the brain, understands the biological basis of various mental disorders, study the pharmacology of various psychoactive agents, and finally familiarizes himself with the treatment of these disorders. With this broad scope, the book is written in four parts. The first part includes nerve transduction, dopaminergic serotonergic and norepinephrinergic system and pharmacokinetics. The second part deals with the pharmacology of various drugs. The third part explores the psychobiology of various mental disorders and the last part provides detailed information on the treatment of various mental disorders. Treatment of special populations are also included in the last part.
