This chapter discusses diseases of external nose and nasal cavity, which are classified such as infective conditions, neoplastic conditions, traumatic conditions, foreign bodies in the nose, congenital conditions, bleeding from the nose and affections of septum of nose. Acute vestibulitis nose is caused by staphylococcal infection and patient presents with redness, excoriation and fissuring of skin of the vestibule which results from infection of hair follicles. Lupus vulgaris is a tubercular infection of skin of nose with appearance of reddish brown papules on the nose. Unilateral foul smelling discharge in a child is pathognomic of a foreign body. Le Forte’s classification of maxillofacial injury may be transverse, vertical or of the whole complex. Septal haematoma and abscess may result from injuries or follow operation of nose or even vestibulitis. Saddle nose may result from injury, septal abscess, syphilis or nasal surgery. Myiasis is treated by putting chloroform, turpentine oil or maggot oil in the nose.
