Abstract

This chapter discusses signs and tests in ENT, where various signs in ENT are Browne’s sign, Battle’s sign, delta sign, dalrymple sign, Griesinger’s sign, Hamman sign, Hennebert’s sign, Hitselberger sign, Jaffroy’s sign, Kernig’s sign, Kocher’s sign, Lehermitte sign, Paracusis Willisii, pawn broker sign, racoon sign, rat tail sign, rising sun sign, Schwartz sign and Stellwag sign. Tear-drop sign is defined as a tear drop-shaped opacification, which is seen hanging from the roof of the maxillary sinus on Water’s view. In absolute bone conduction test (ABC Test) bone conduction of the patient is compared with that of the examiner after occluding the meatus. ABC equal is seen in normal or conductive type of hearing loss but is reduced in SNHL. Whisper test is done with residual air after full expiration in a reasonably quite room. Speech discrimination score is also called optimum discrimination.
