Small Incision Cataract Surgery has become the state-of-the-art surgery for management of age-related cataracts across the world. It is a surgical procedure that is easy to master, safe, faster than a conventional ECCE and an effective method which delivers optimal visual results comparable to phacoemulsification with less chance of complications and no additional cost of instruments or machinery. Most surgeons are still performing conventional Extracapsular Cataract Surgery and there is an urgent need to shift towards Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery which offers much better results in a shorter time. This book has been conceived to provide the reader with a video-assisted instruction course on “how to do a manual small incision cataract surgery,” covering each step of the surgical procedure. Each surgical detail has been explained in the text. This handbook will serve as a useful practical manual for residents and practicing ophthalmologists and help them in performing manual SICS with expertise.
