Abstract

The test AGLT-50 is employed as a complementary test for Hereditary Spherocytosis. A mixture of blood sample and isotonic phosphate buffered saline (PBS) which have been kept for 24 hours is run on spectrophotometer and the rate of hemolysis is measured. Normal controls are run in parallel. The AGLT50 is always shortened in cases of Hereditary Spherocytosis.
