Abstract

This chapter considers ‘other bio statistical techniques’ that are very relevant in present day practice. With 3 illustrations, cluster analysis namely principal component analysis (PCA-a mathematical procedure (Orthogonal transformation) to convert a set of correlated variables into uncorrelated variables) as well as canonical discriminate analysis (CDA-which extracts a set of linear combinations of the quantitative variables that best reveal the differences among groups) are discussed and illustrated. Snedecor’s F ratio and Logistic Regression are highlighted. Meta analysis based on Chi Square statistics, homogenicity of odds ratio between different studies is indicated with illustrations. The chapter is concluded with multiple correlations which is another common higher statistical procedure in biostatistics.
