Infections and infestations are one of the commonest causes of skin diseases. Bacterial infections like impetigo are common afflictions of the children and immunosuppressed as are viral infections like molluscum contagiosum while fungal infections like tinea and pityriasis versicolor are commonplace in warm and humid environments. This module deals with bacterial, fungal and viral infections. Infestations including scabies, pediculosis is covered in detail. Cutaneous leishmaniasis and tuberculosis are covered in focused with special emphasis on commonly tested topics.
