This chapter deals with the mechanical devices applied to human body. An external mechanical device fitted to a body part to assist, align, resist or protect the function of a body part. Each orthotic device acts on the basis of three point pressure system. In the spinal region CO, TLO, TLSO, Milwaukee or Boston orthoses those are used. Corsets are low spinal orthoses those are made up of canvass reinforced with metal or plastic stay. Splints are also external devices which support or restrict body parts. These can be of static type and dynamic type. Some times shoes are modified according to the patient bony deformity or foot curvature.
