This chapter discusses in great detail prevention, diagnosis and management of intra orbital complication that can occur during the operation or in the immediate post operative period. Special emphasis is made to the operative technique to prevent entry into the orbit. A detailed account of various predisposing factors are discussed to prevent orbital complications and if it occurs during operation various measures that need to be taken immediately are discussed step by step. Complications are divided into minor and major categories and are discussed in further detail. Special emphasis is made on intraorbital haematoma and its immediate treatment in terms of orbital decompression. The pathology of optic nerve injury is discussed and treatment is outlined.
