Abstract

Following discharge of the patient there is little complication that can occur and this chapter discusses these complications. Haemorrhage either reactionary or secondary from the nasal cavity can occur and the management is described depending upon the severity of the bleeding. The more common problem of post operative adhesions is described in detail in terms of prevention and its treatment if it still occurs. Importance of Prevention of adhesions is discussed especially performing atraumatic meticulous operative technique. Chronic osteitis results from leaving bare bone without nasal mucous membrane and techniques have been described to minimise this complication. The chapter is illustrated with many operative and post operative photographs especially a long term follow up of the patient following endoscopic sinus surgery.
