Medical Disorders in Pregnancy—An Update

Medical Disorders in Pregnancy is meant to provide some fundamental information about the medical diseases that can complicate pregnancy. Obstetricians are responsible for primary care of the pregnant woman. Physiological changes during pregnancy, effect of disease and effect on disease in pregnancy, rational use of drugs are some of the issues that the obstetricians should be well-informed. The book, Medical Disorders in Pregnancy is an addition to the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI)’s list of publications. A total of forty different issues have been presented. Most of the chapters from the previous publication have been updated by the same contributors. Couple of chapters have been rewritten. Going by the felt need, issues on Human Immune Deficiency Virus Infection and some of the tropical infections such as Dengue Fever, Leptospirosis and Kala Azar have been addressed. Every chapter has been written keeping in view the latest concept following the survey of the current literature. The contributors are experts in their respective field of knowledge armed with experience. The book will be a source of reference to postgraduate students, teachers and practicing obstetricians.
