Abstract

Abstract

Superficial thrombophlebitis is described first, with tips on managing it. Pathogenesis of pelvic thrombophlebitis is described, starting with a septic process in the uterus or adnexa leading to pelvic thrombophlebitis and subsequent bacteremia. Radiologic diagnosis and management with anticoagulants, antimicrobials, and surgical ligation of veins proximal to involved segments are discussed.
