Abstract

The diagnosis and dental treatment of tooth erosion should be combined with a psychological assessment of patients’ behaviors, and a closer liaison with physicians and clinical psychologists. Dentists should be aware of the need for continuing education regarding the effects of psychological and other stresses on oral health and treatment management. Dental schools should incorporate relevant behavioral courses into their core curriculum.
