Abstract

To learn and understand the epidemiology, diagnostic tools and treatment option for latent tuberculosis infection. Dormant tuberculosis bacilli in their body is known as latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI). The potential for reactivation at any time, resulting in possible transmission to other individual is a cause for concern necessitating treatment of LTBI. In the management of LTBI Newer diagnostic tests like QuantiFERON test and newer drug like PA824 need to be further evaluated.
