Abstract

To learn and understand the role of directly observed treatment in improving the compliance of tuberculosis treatment. Many studies have shown that one of every three patients will prematurely stop taking medication. Measurements of drugs serum level and urine metabolites have reputedly shown that even patients being treated in hospital will hide and throw away medication delivered to them at bad side. Age, Sex, race, socioeconomic status, education, marital status, culture and religious belief are of no help to identified who is or will be compliant to medication.
