A sincere effort to collect articles covering a variety of subjects like ethical issues, gender issues which are relevant to the practicing Obstetricians and Gynecologists. HIV in pregnancy is a problem which today has to be faced by many practitioners. The chapter deals with its management. Articles on Contraception–OC pill, injectable contraceptive and IUCD are informative. The chapter on MVA is important as it is a simple safe method of first trimester termination of pregnancy. The chapter on Yogic practice in pregnancy and labour is a first time presentation on the subject in a book of gynecology. Anemia in pregnancy continues to be prevalent and is responsible for adverse obstetric outcome. Diabetes in pregnancy is another problem that requires early recognition and meticulous management. Maternal and perinatal mortality is an index to the quality of medical care available in the community. Chapters on these topics have been discussed.
