Diagnosis in Wound Healing

by Raj Mani

The World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS) decided to produce a series of educational handbooks, this one being the second. Its aim is to inform the readers of the local procedure that is based on evidence and has been validated formally or through audits. Chronic lower extremity wounds are the most common of all chronic wounds and include venous ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, ischemic and mixed arteriovenous ulcers. The aim is to present a step-wise approach to the diagnosis of lower extremity wounds. The book is a gateway to the art of wound dressing and the content matter is tailor specific and completely descriptive. It also presents techniques and management guidelines to wound debridement. The hallmark of the book is that it teaches the choice of techniques on types and rules of debridement. This book teaches, guides and educates the field of injury and wound management.
