Vascular diabetes is a new syndrome described as a phase of DM in one’s life. Phase-I is metabolic presentation, phase-II is metabolic cum vascular presentation and phase-III is vascular presentation with negligible metabolic component. This vascular presentation is called as vascular syndrome. The details about every phase are described. Burnt out diabetes or cured metabolic diabetes are other names for this syndrome. This is a new classification of DM, using the long term behavior of the disease and is not described elsewhere.
