Abstract

Nitrosamines are chemical toxins, which will be developing while the food items are too much cured or smoked while being prepared. They are found in smoked and cured meats or in chewing nuts. The role of nitrosamines in the development of IDDM is now a topic of importance in Diabetology. Pancreatitis preceding the IDDM development in India is one factor noted by me. Too much quantity of a particular brand of biscuits which has got too much cured dark brown color, taken by a child is possibly a factor for development of IDDM later. Do not indulge too much with any brand of eatables is a best dictum to prevent IDDM in children.
