Abstract

The splints are the oldest therapeutic devices used for the disabled. There are different types of splints. The basic indications of splinting are discussed along with contra indications. The purpose and principles of braces are also listed along with how to care of them as well.The mechanics involved in lower extremity bracing is also discussed with flail joints and stabilization.
