Cancer Uterine Cervix

by M Banumathy

Cancer annually affects nine million people and causes five million deaths. These figures will increase significantly, especially in developing countries unless effective control of the disease is seriously thought of. Medical advances mean that, one-third of all cancers are preventable—more true in cancer cervix, and a further one-third, if detected early, are potentially curable and appropriate palliative care of the remaining one-third can improve their quality of life. Of all human cancers only cervical cancer, the second most common cancer among women, stands on the threshold of being virtually eliminated. This book is aimed to bring to the readers, a broad overview of various aspects of Carcinoma Cervix.
