With the writing of the 7th edition of this well-known and popular book on Practical Physiology, it has completed nearly 25 years of evolution, growth and development. The students have always demanded simplicity, directness and clarity of expression that is within their grasp. It is hoped that the book meets with their requirements. All sections have been thoroughly revised and their information updated by incorporating the latest concepts and developments in the subject. The book conforms to the syllabi and courses laid down by the Medical and Dental Councils of India and which are followed by all colleges. As per the new curriculum policy of MCI, the sections on Hematology, Human Experiments, and Clinical Examination have been greatly expanded and many new diagrams added, while the section on Animal Experiments has been trimmed. A new feature is the introduction of Student Objectives at the start of most practical. It clearly states the desired level of competence that a student is expected to achieve, and the practical application of that knowledge.
