Abstract

Advances in oncology imaging have been indirectly responsible for enhancement of surgical skills by providing data which hither to before was not available. At the same time, confusion prevails in the mind of surgical residents while choosing a particular imaging technique, from a wide array of investigations like ultrasound, CT scan, MRI radionuclide scan and of late PET scan. This chapter deals with pros and cons of each imaging technique, system and organ wise and chooses the best technique for a particular system, though many investigations are complimentary to each other.
