Tumors of the paranasal sinuses (PNS) occur infrequently and constitute about 10% of all head and neck tumors. Out of all the PNS’s namely maxillary, ethmoid, sphenoid and frontal sinuses, maxillary sinus cancers are the commonest and form the focus of attention in this chapter. Maxillae are paired facial bones containing the sinuses, and form the entire upper jaw and a significant portion of the mid face. It is the largest PNS and is pneumatized like others to give resonance to the voice and keep the head ‘light weight’. Maxilla is related closely to orbit, nasal cavity, oral cavity and infratemporal and pterygopalatine fossae.
