Head and neck cancers account for 5% of all malignancies, and rank as the fourth most common cancer in males, in the USA, though in India it is far more common, with oral and pharyngeal cancers being more common. In the west, laryngeal cancers are the commonest head and neck cancers, while in China, it is nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The incidence of oral cancers in India is 10.8 to 38.8 in males and 1.1 to 14.9 in females, per 100,000 populations.
