Abstract

Vasectomy is indicated for male sterilization. It can be done under local anesthesia. Vas is fixed between finger and thumb and exposed by direct skin incision. A short segment of the vas is divided between two pairs of artery forceps and cut ends ligated with catgut or silk. No scalpel vasectomy was first performed in China in 1974 and is less invasive.
