Basics in Occupational Therapy and Therapeutic Activities

This text has covered history and objectives of occupational therapy as well as modalities used by occupational therapist. It can be used as therapist’s guide to activity analysis. It also emphasizes in teaching first year student of occupational therapy, the art of activity analysis, gradation to make therapeutic activity and adaptation to fit the activity to the individual for his/her independent living and building his/her self-esteem and self-confidence. Occupational therapy student learns the unique art of connecting the need of the client to the potential therapeutic value of activity, hence, reducing the handicapping effect on the lives of client and integrating them in the normal stream of life.
