Abstract

In this method, proteins in serum are precipitate with sodium tungstate and H2SO4. The protein free filtrate containing creatinine reacts with picric acid in alkaline medium to form orange colored creatinine picrate (Jaffe’s reaction). The intensity of orange color formed is proportional to the amount of creatinine present in the serum. The color intensity is measured by using a green filter (540 nm).
