Abstract

Diagnostic clue can be obtained from regional location of contact dermatitis. Site of location helps in proper and relevant history taking and also to select the allergens to be patch tested. Awareness of contactants and causative allergens according to different sites, like eyes, ear, scalp, axillae, etc. may lead to quick identification of the culprit. Hand dermatitis may be caused by both irritant and allergic factors due to exogenous and endogenous cause. Vesicular hand dermatitis or pompholyx is caused by secondary ‘id’ eruption from primary contact dermatitis or fungus eruption elsewhere in the body.
