Abstract

Social psychology is the scientific study of behavior of an individual in a social setting which helps to determine the influence of the interaction on the individual. Main focus of social psychology is to determine how the individual affects the others and is affected by the others. This knowledge helps the nurse to develop good social interaction and thereby good human inter-personal relationship with the patient in the society. The concept of group interaction, group morale and classification of groups has been dealt with so as to provide an understanding of social psychology. Special emphasis is given on influence of group on individual behavior, leadership, delinquent behavior and significance of social psychology for nurses.
