Abstract

Effective nursing requires successful personal and professional adjustments on the part of the nurse herself. This adjustment has different dimensions such as health, emotional, social, home, school or professional. Personal and environmental factors work side by side in bringing about this adjustment. It is important for a nurse to adjust to oneself and to ones profession. To adjust effectively to oneself and to ones profession, various methods of adjustment are elaborated in this unit. Brief note has been made on maladjustment and factors contributing to such behavior. This unit concludes with professional and personal adjustments for a successful nurse.
