This is a brief chapter that begins by classifying pathological fungi. Discussed at length are Superficial Mycoses and Dermatophytes (Microsporum, Trichophyton, Epidermophyton), Intermediate Superficial Deep Mycoses (Candida species) and Deep or Systemic Mycoses (Actinomycoses, Nocardia, Cryptococcus, Histoplasma and Coccidiodes).
