Abstract

The joint is situated at the junction of the hand and the forearm; it is synovial ellipsoid and biaxial type of joint. It is to be noted the lower end of the ulna does not take part in the wrist joint as it is isolated from triquetral bone, by the triangular articular disc. Extension of the wrist is more powerful than the flexion as it is evident by the fact that the firm grip of the hand is possible only when the wrist is dorsiflexed. The knife held in dorsiflex position drops down like a dead stone as the wrist is forcibly palmar flexed.
