Nuclear Medicine technique are useful in haematology in several ways; the study if absorption of iron, B12, folic acid, determination of RBC volume and blood volume quantitation of gastro intestinal blood loss, quantitation of erythropoiesis, the rack of iron incorporation into RBCs, the life span of RBCs, the demonstration of sites of active erythropoiesis and demonstration of excessive splenic sequestration of RBCs- platelets.
