Meta-analysis and RCTs come next followed by other types of studies. WHO publications and various clinical practice guidelines form important evidences. Text books are gold standards of basic knowledge prevalent at the time of their latest edition. One must look for evidence of efficiency as well as safety. You must read journals critically. Various agencies have defined the levels of evidence.
