Abstract

Misdeed is a wicked or illegal act. Misconduct is doing wrong intentionally. It has many aspects. Study design should not be compromised. Fabrication is inventing imaginary or cooked up data. Falsification is tampering of data. All research must be published irrespective of its outcome. Announce conflicting interests. Duplicate publication and slicing a study for unjustified multiple publications must not be indulged into. Plagiarism is robbing others’ intellectual property. Peer reviewers and editors are also known for subtle misconduct. Misconduct is exposed by suspecting peer reviewers, experienced editors, smart readers and disgruntled colleagues. The culprits must be punished though in practice it is not easy.
