Abstract

Occupational dystonias are a variety of focal dystonias which are easy to diagnose than to treat. The exact mechanism for such manifestations have not been revealed, but defect in motor programming in the frontal lobe due to repetitive activities may be responsible for sending the wrong signals in the agonist and antagonist group of muscles resulting in malfunctioning. Since etiology is not well clarified, treatment has certain limitations. Various therapeutic programs are available and can help many affected persons and should be used. The author here has nicely described the clinical features, mentioned the predisposing causes and dealt with the treatment in detail.
