Muscle relaxants are used to block neuromuscular conduction at the motor end plate. These are either depolarizing or the nondepolarizing agents. Suxamethonium is the only depolarizing agent used in clinical anaesthesia. However nondepolarizing agents include gallamine, tubocurarine, pancuronium, vecuronium, mivacurium and so on.
