Abstract

Basic monitoring during anesthesia is vital to assess the basic physiological functions of the body. Modem monitoring equipment should always be available in operation theatres and intensive care units. Pulse oximeter, electrocardiography, capnography, vapour analyzer, non-invasive blood pressure measurement, thermometry, airway pressure, blood gas analysis, etc. are most important. Monitoring of the neuromuscular block is also helpful.
