Urticaria and angioedema are the most frequent dermatologic disorders seen in the emergency department. The first part of the chapter provides an overview of the causes and management of acute and chronic urticaria and provides a stepwise approach to a case of urticaria in general, along with a flow chart to approach a case of chronic urticaria. Pruritus is an unpleasant sensation which is the presenting symptom of many dermatological disorders and might be the harbinger of several systemic disorders. The second part of the chapter deals with the various causes of pruritus providing an exhaustive list of the investigations to be done in a patient with pruritus, with a note on the symptomatic and specific treatment tailored to the underlying cause.
