The Book Drug Screening Methods is useful for the postgraduate students of Pharmacology, Pharmacy, and Pharmaceutical Sciences; and Pharmaceutical Industry engaged in R and D at various laboratories. The book includes 44 chapters on screening methods used for the pharmacological evaluation of the drug. The second edition of the book includes certain additions and some deletions. The chapter on Newer Tools for Drug Screening provides an update on novel concepts such as cassette dosing, virtual screening, application of LC-MS/MS in bioanalysis, etc. The chapter on stem cell therapy is informative and interesting from the readers’ point of view. Multimodal approaches for the screening of anti-stroke agents has been incorporated in the book. Chapter on antifertility agents have been written by one of the stalwarts in the field. While the difficult and challenging areas of research like diabetic retinopathy and ocular inflammation have also been included, this would create a renewed interest among the researchers in the field. At present this is the only book available in the Indian market on this subject which provides hands on technique for the screening of drugs.
