Section includes images of congenital, metabolic, connective tissue and metastatic bone and joint diseases. Images of congenital skeletal disorders like spina bifida, osteopetrosis, and Morquio’s disease are included with diagnostic radiologic signs as Erlyn Mayer flask deformity, beaking of vertebra, etc.). Characteristic radiographic signs of metabolic bone diseases like osteomalacia, hyperparathyroidism and rickets (Rugger Jersey spine, looser zones, pepper pot skull, rachitis rosary, Wimberg sign) are shown. More than 12 images of RA from axial and appendicular skeleton provide characteristic radiological features (juxta articular erosions, subluxation and deformities). X-RAYs of spondyloarthropathies (ankylosing spondylitis, Reiter’s disease, psoriatic and enteropathic arthritis) with specific radiographic features like bamboo spine, tramline appearance, erosions are present. Radiological findings of primary neoplasms of bone and metastatic lesions are shown in conventional and advanced radiology (CT scan / MRI). Images of skeleton in different infectious diseases like TB (Pott’s spine), leprosy, fungal infections, acute and chronic osteomyelitis are included. Images depicting radiographic features of skeleton in different haematological diseases like Thalasaemia and multiple myeloma are also present.
