Abstract

This chapter discusses hospital statistics. Hospital information is an integral part of the hospital administration. Now with the advent and wide use of the computers the hospital information system (HIS) is being developed with the help of the computers. In most of the hospitals now, particularly in corporate hospitals HIS is being used widely for the administration of the services. The median is defined as the middle most observation if these are arranged in increasing or decreasing order of magnitude. The t-test is an accurate method to test the significance of difference between two means or proportion in small samples. Correlation measures strength of relationship between two variables. If there is tendency for the second variable to increase with increase in first variable it is called positive correlation.
