Abstract

Identification is common in the establishment of identity of recovered human remains. Identification of human remains is established by several methods: visual identification, finger prints, and emerging signs of DNA matching. In dental identifications, the dentist plays a role during evidence collection. In this chapter the author talks about the various methods of dental identifications that include photographs of deceased individuals, impressions of the deceased dentition and comparative dental identification, scientific identification, visual examination, dental charting, dental radiographs, study models and the importance of good clinical pictures.
