Bite mark injuries are a form of “patterned injury” which means that the configuration is caused by a particular object. Sometimes bite marks are called as “tool marks”. Bite mark is also defined as a mark made by the teeth either alone or in combination with other mouth parts. In this chapter the author has discussed about crimes involved in bite marks, classification of bite marks, types of bite marks and factor influencing the bite marks. Biochemical studies, controversies regarding bite mark evidence, bite marks in forensic dentistry, description of bite marks, bite print recording, tissue samples, photographs, teeth size, shape, and arrangement, evaluation of bite mark photographs, characteristics in the mark, tooth pressure mark, tongue pressure mark, tooth scrape marks and complex marks are explained along with good clinical pictures.
