At the end, the apoptosis, the process of programmed cell death is discussed with suitable examples. This Textbook Human Physiology is divided into number of organ systems and their functions discussed. But the reader should keep in mind that all these divisions of body into different organs systems and their studies under different headings, are only for study purposes. All these system functions are towards one aim that is to maintain homeostasis or to maintain the constant nature of the internal environment. All body organ systems work as one unit in an integrated manner. Their functions are inter-related inter-dependent and overlapping.
