An operation theatre plays a very crucial role in managing patients with various ophthalmic ailments. Maintaining and running an operation theatre successfully is a Herculean task. The aim of compiling this book is to provide a “one-stop” reference for the major requirements of an ophthalmic operation theatre. This book included the basic aspects and requirements of an operation theatre and have also dealt with management of infections. This book has been divided into 8 chapters with subdivisions in each of them for easy understanding of the text. A detailed legend is provided for all the photographs. The operation theatre staff at Sankara Nethralaya have put in lot of effort to bring quality surgical care to our patients. This book is a compilation of that effort and experience spanning a period of 25 years. Compiling this book was a team effort of the entire Operation Theatre and Housekeeping staff without whose valuable input and cooperation it would not have been possible to put together.
